The Story of #89
Howdy!! My name is #89. I was born and raised on a ranch in the Northern Rocky Mountains of Western Montana. I thought that if I wrote this short story of my life I would be able to do a pretty good job of explaining why I am so different than my other steer cousins and also why I am so much in demand by health conscious people everywhere. My first recollections were of being born in a large pasture of sweet, green grass. My mother told me that I was so lucky to be born here because my cousins in the East and Midwest were born in damp, cold barns and had to be given painful shots of antibiotics just to keep from getting sick. My mom told me how special I was because I came from a long, noble line of champion Angus Cattle dating all the way back to Scotland. It made me mighty proud to know that I was not a result of mishmash, crossbred breeding by amateur farmers. Nope, I was very, very proud to be the product of professional purebred breeders, dedicated to producing traceable, superior, purebred cattle. I really am scared of needles and I feel so sorry for all the other calves that are given these countless shots. It must really hurt! My mother explained to me that because I was born on lush, green grass, I grew and developed into the young adult steer that I am today solely on grass, along with being raised in the healthiest place on earth and drinking water from alpine snow melt from the huge mountains towering above my pastures. Because of all these healthy environment factors, I do not need all these shots to keep me healthy, I was born and raised the way God intended…Naturally.
My mother is really smart, after all she is a pedigreed cow of super quality. Anyway, she told me that nearly all my cousins not only receive many shots throughout their life but also they have implants put under their skin every few months from birth till harvest. My poor cousins have so many of these steroids that they are made sterile and researchers say that these steroids can cause terrible ailments such as cancer when given to laboratory animals. This sounds really bad and I wonder why anyone would want to give this type of meat to their family. My mother also explained, I told you she was really smart, that nature puts very special things in my beef, things like CLA, Omega 3, much higher levels of Vitamins and much less Omega 6, which is bad for humans and way less fat and Cholesterol. I asked my mother why any human would want to eat beef from my feedlot fed cousins when they can have beef from me. My mother said it was because humans just might not be very smart, after all, humans don’t come with pedigrees.
Well, the sun is getting high in that Western sky and today is the day I make that 37 mile trip to Rocky Mountain Gourmet Steaks in Missoula, Montana to provide smart people (like you) with the highest quality Montana Natural Grass Fed Beef. See You!!
